In Spring 2004, we have decided to leave Massachusetts where we are living, to share some time with you in Provence, in our vacation home. That time in Provence will be unique and special.

First thing, we will explore lots of recipes from my cookbook "Sunny cooking step by step".I will prove you that cooking is funny, easy, and you will learn how to make it very healthy.

And, I want you to know my region as only the locals can, not as an outsider, a tourist, who can see only the too well known places, or worse, be irritated because he cannot find a place, or cannot be understood.

You will not, as groups do, race through this region, glancing here and there at villages, art museums or ruins, that you feel you already know, having seen them so many times in pictures or at theTV. Instead, we will drive through places rarely seen by other visitors, and take time to know and experience the region we love so much.

With us, you will live the life of a person from the region, learning about the local history while visiting out of the way places. I think I can give you something that the persons who have not been born here cannot offer you: My roots, my past, my memories. Because my parents, grand parents, great grand parents lived here, I have lots of personal memories, which I will share with you.

You will experience the life of a true native. We will show you what the French way of life is at its best in this region.

When you leave Provence, we hope you will be able to say that you received PERSONAL ATTENTION from people who love the area, and that you became a part of a provencal family, rather than being led by umbrella-carrying guides who race you from one place to another.

Here is a first glimpse of what we will give you, if you stay with us....

  • Learn and understand the history of Provence and his people while visiting the ruins of a chapel nestled among century-old olive trees.
  • Take a short walk along a dry river bed, searching for thyme that grows wild in the region.
  • Visit an olive oil mill to see and hear first-hand how this provencal product is processed
  • See how our local artisans create their specialties
  • Take a break from visits to enjoy some socca from Theresa in the flower market in Nice.
  • Learn to cook simple and healthy meals you can serve at home .
  • Shop at the local markets

We just want to share these pleasures and many other ones with you....

Come and join us to discover through a native's eyes, this region I love.

I promise you that after staying one week with us, you will be able to say :
"I know Provence, because I lived there"
